Long Update!

Dear Maxwell,

The past couple of months have been so very busy for us that I haven't even had a chance to update your blog! Don't worry, I have a good memory and tons of pictures.

You're now 7 1/2 months old. I took a look back at the entry I made back in June when you were just 3 months old. So much has changed since then! You definitely sleep in your crib now. I don't check on your nearly as much as I used to when we first put you in your room. One of our favorite things to do on Saturday or Sunday is feed you when you wake up bright and early (because you really haven't mastered sleeping late on the weekends just yet!) and then we bring you into our room where you babble to Mommy and Daddy and then we all happily fall back asleep until a more reasonable wake-up hour.

You met your Grandpa Rossi at the end of June. You had so much fun and even had your first real belly laugh! We went to Harry's Place in Colchester for the first time with you. You'll love it there when you get older. Mommy used to make Daddy take her there for a burger after our doctor's appointments when I was pregnant with you.

You were baptized on August 16th. Your godmother is Auntie Amy and your godfather is Uncle Adrian. You were such a good baby! You actually were just getting over your first sickness and had little spots all over you from a fever rash!! Even still, you looked adorable and didn't even cry when you got baptized. We had a great party afterwards and you were a happy little man hanging out with friends and family. You even got to meet your Auntie Sarah and cousin Tanner for the first time. They made you laugh and smile!

I'm still standing by the fact that mama was your first 'word'. You said it the night of the 17th and only a few times after that night. Most often when you were frustrated and crying and it kind of slipped out. Oh well :)

I totally lost track of when you actually got your first tooth :( You were around 5 1/2 months old though and the second one came shortly after! You didn't even put up a huge fuss when you were teething!!

You found your feet in early August and then on August 27th you put them in your mouth- ICK! I have a picture to prove that one :)

Mommy went back to work in August, but I love Thursday because I have the day off of work and get to spend it with you! We tried to take advantage of the nice weather by going to Sears Park right near the lake. I'd put you in the baby swing, but we could never stay long b/c there were so many trees that even on a nice day it was always pretty cool. We also take walks when it's nice out. You like watching the scenery or most times, taking naps! There always seems to be a lot of nature outside in our yard on Thursdays (or maybe everyday, but I only notice it since I'm home). We've seen a deer, hummingbirds and a hawk!

I decided to put you in your highchair for the first time on 9/10 and you liked it! I gave you a baby spoon to play with and you kept gagging yourself and then laughing about it. It was pretty funny. You tried cereal for the first time that night and of course you liked it!

We spent nearly every weekend of the fall doing something fun with you! Our first adventure was to a Japanese Garden in Portland on 9/19. Your Daddy has been trying to figure out when it was open for nearly two years. We finally went and it was pretty nice. You liked looking at the huge fish in the koi pond. Then we took a trip to the Old Cider Mill in Glastonbury. You were amused by the little chickies, but did start to cry when they got too loud. You touched hay for the first time and wouldn't let go of it! We took your picture amongst the pumpkins :)

We took a trip the next weekend to Paul and Sandy's Pumpkintown, USA on 9/26 with your cousins Lauryn and Ryan. You are Lauryn took in the sights from strollers and cousin Ryan had fun running through a hay maze and jumping in a big inflatable pumpkin. You tried avocado for the first time that night and LOVED it. Daddy was grossed out by it :) I think I will save all of the information on what foods you have tried for another post b/c I have tons of pictures and you have eaten a lot of different things so far!

We went up to ECSU for Daddy's alumni lacrosse game the following weekend on 10/4. You had just started to babble dada and it was perfect timing. You were babbling in the stands as we watched Daddy play and out came dada at the end of what sounded like a cheer. You made many people smile and laugh. You looked so cute in your Eastern hoodie, but it did get a little hot in sun so we had to take it off. We bought the hoodie while I was pregnant with you and your Daddy knew that you would be wearing it to his game this fall :)

You started sitting up on your own for longer than 5 minutes on 10/8. Maddie puppy had just had eye surgery done and was wearing a cone around her head. You sat up right next to her and just stared like you weren't sure what was going on! You sat up for at least 20 minutes while I took pictures of you.

The following weekend we went to a fall Harvest Party at Heather and Mark McDonald's house. They have a little boy named Cuin and he's just over a year old. You liked looking at the leaves in the yard and watching the kids.

The next weekend was cousin Lauryn's 1st Birthday (plus one month!) party. You had so much fun watching Lauryn and Sarah especially. You played in the pack and play and were such a good boy! The next day, Frauntie Erin and Colleen and Colin came to visit. We were all supposed to head to Pumpkintown, USA but the weather didn't cooperate. It not only rained...it snowed! Ick. We dressed you and Colin up in identical pumpkin outfits. I'm sure you'll thank me later for that one!

As if we hadn't had enough fall fun, we ventured out again and went to Karabin farms where we put you in with the pumpkins again and poked your cute little face through some painted wooden scenes....I think you were the horse, and then an apple! We then went to Lyman Orchard. It was so crowded and their pumpkins were not very pretty...they were more green than orange! Even still we took more pictures and of course picked up some yummy cider donut holes. You'll like those when you're old enough!!

Your first Halloween...Daddy had big plans of dressing you up as Coach Tom Coughlin... but, he couldn't find you a minature clipboard and it ended up being a really warm day for 10/31, so we went with the pumpkin outfit. We spent the evening in Berlin and you watched some tricker-treaters, but really weren't too impressed. You will be when you are old enough to eat the candy!!

Well, I think that covers a lot of what you have done/places you have been over the past few months. I promise to try to be better about this!

You are such a wonderful baby and we love you more and more each day. I think we are the luckiest people in the world to have you as our son.

Love you Bubba!
